Privacy
The Daily Rift has no accounts and no ads. To give you one go at each day, it sets one cookie: a random player ID, signed so it can't be forged, kept for up to 400 days. It stores the answers you give with that ID, so it can score you and count how often each answer is picked.
Your IP address is never stored. A salted hash of it is kept with your player and your answers, to rate-limit requests and to stop one connection from skewing answer counts. Your browser also keeps your last 60 days of results and your sound setting in local storage; that never leaves your device.
The game runs on Vercel and Neon, whose servers keep short-lived request logs. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies or any ID that follows you between days. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone else. Clearing your cookies starts you over as a new player.
